How to integrate Pinterest with Azure Cosmos DB in 3 simple steps
- 1
Connect Pinterest as your data source
Set up a source connector for Pinterest in minutes. Estuary supports streaming (including CDC where available) and batch data capture through events, incremental syncs, or snapshots — without custom pipelines, agents, or manual configuration.
- 2
Configure Azure Cosmos DB as your destination connector
Estuary supports intelligent schema handling, with schema inference and evolution tools that help align source and destination structures over time. It supports both batch and streaming data movement, reliably delivering data to Azure Cosmos DB.
- 3
Deploy and Monitor Your End-to-End Data Pipeline
Launch your pipeline and monitor it from a single UI. Estuary guarantees exactly-once delivery, handles backfills and replays, and scales with your data — without engineering overhead.

Pinterest connector details
The Pinterest capture connector in Estuary captures advertising, analytics, account, board, and Pin data from Pinterest and loads each selected resource into an Estuary collection. Depending on the resource, the connector uses either incremental replication or full-table capture.
- API-based data capture from Pinterest
- Incremental capture for account analytics, ad account analytics, campaigns, campaign analytics, ad groups, ad group analytics, ads, and ad analytics
- Full-table capture for boards, board sections, Pins on boards, Pins on board sections, and ad accounts
- Configurable start date to control how far back eligible data is replicated
- OAuth 2.0 or access-token authentication
- Separate Estuary collections for selected Pinterest resources
- Built-in support for Pinterest API rate limits across analytics, advertising, and board streams
Pinterest limits how far back certain data can be requested. If a start date is not specified, the connector defaults to the latest date allowed by the Pinterest API, currently 89 days before the present date.

Azure Cosmos DB connector details
The Azure Cosmos DB for MongoDB materialization connector in Estuary delivers documents from Estuary collections into MongoDB-compatible collections in Azure Cosmos DB. It supports continuous materialization from real-time or batch pipelines, using standard merge-based updates by default with optional delta updates for applicable workloads.
- Standard merge-based updates by default to keep destination documents synchronized
- Optional delta updates for workloads where changes should be applied incrementally
- Optional hard deletes to remove destination documents when records are deleted upstream
- Automatic
**_id**mapping based on the Estuary collection key - Handles existing
**_id**fields safely by materializing them as_flow_idto avoid conflicts - Configurable destination database and collection for each binding
- Username and password authentication
- MongoDB connection string support, including
mongodb+srv://addresses - SSH tunneling support for destinations on secure or private networks
By default, deletions are represented as soft deletes using _meta/op. When hard deletes are enabled, records deleted upstream are also removed from the destination collection. The connector supports both standard updates and delta updates, with standard updates used by default.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is this integration suitable for production workloads?
Yes. Estuary pipelines are designed for production use, with exactly-once delivery semantics, automated backfills, and continuous operation at scale.
Can I control where my data runs and is processed?
Yes. Estuary offers multiple deployment options, including fully managed SaaS, private deployments, and bring-your-own-cloud (BYOC). This allows teams to control where their data plane runs and meet security, compliance, and networking requirements. Learn more about Estuary's security and deployment options.
Can I build this Pinterest to Azure Cosmos DB integration manually?
Yes, it's possible to build a manual pipeline using custom scripts, scheduled jobs, or open-source tools. However, manual approaches typically require ongoing maintenance, custom error handling, schema management, and operational overhead. Estuary simplifies this by providing a managed pipeline with built-in reliability, scaling, and monitoring.
