How to integrate Mailchimp with Amazon SNS in 3 simple steps
- 1
Connect Mailchimp as your data source
Set up a source connector for Mailchimp in minutes. Estuary supports streaming (including CDC where available) and batch data capture through events, incremental syncs, or snapshots — without custom pipelines, agents, or manual configuration.
- 2
Configure Amazon SNS as your destination connector
Estuary supports intelligent schema handling, with schema inference and evolution tools that help align source and destination structures over time. It supports both batch and streaming data movement, reliably delivering data to Amazon SNS.
- 3
Deploy and Monitor Your End-to-End Data Pipeline
Launch your pipeline and monitor it from a single UI. Estuary guarantees exactly-once delivery, handles backfills and replays, and scales with your data — without engineering overhead.

Mailchimp connector details
The Mailchimp capture connector in Estuary captures marketing, campaign, audience, and engagement data through the Mailchimp Marketing API and loads each selected resource into an Estuary collection. Depending on the resource, the connector uses incremental replication or full refreshes to keep downstream data up to date.
- API-based data capture from Mailchimp
- Incremental replication for campaigns, email activity, list members, and segments
- Full-refresh replication for automations, automation emails, lists, interests, interest categories, segment members, and tags
- Separate Estuary collections for each selected Mailchimp resource
- Configurable sync intervals for individual resources
- Configurable start date for eligible data, defaulting to 30 days before the present date
- Scheduled backfills for resources that need periodic re-capture
- OAuth2 or Mailchimp API key authentication
Campaigns are periodically re-captured because Mailchimp campaign records can continue changing after they are created, such as when campaign status or reporting statistics change. By default, the campaigns stream attempts a backfill once per day at midnight UTC. Campaign deletions are not captured.

Amazon SNS connector details
The Amazon SNS materialization connector in Estuary publishes documents from Estuary collections to Amazon Simple Notification Service (SNS) topics. It can continuously deliver data from real-time or batch pipelines into SNS for event-driven applications, notifications, and downstream AWS workflows.
- Publishes Estuary collection documents directly to Amazon SNS topics
- One SNS event is published for every document processed from the source collection
- Delta-update semantics only, since SNS does not store rows or support merge-based updates
- Supports standard and FIFO SNS topics, with FIFO topic names ending in
.fifo - Multiple Estuary collections can be mapped to SNS topics using separate bindings
- Configurable AWS region for the SNS service
- AWS Access Key authentication using an Access Key ID and Secret Access Key
- AWS IAM role authentication for role-based access
- Custom AWS endpoint support for compatible services such as LocalStack
Because Amazon SNS is an event-streaming system rather than a database, Estuary does not merge or update previously published records. Every document flowing through the materialization results in a new event being published to the configured SNS topic.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is this integration suitable for production workloads?
Yes. Estuary pipelines are designed for production use, with exactly-once delivery semantics, automated backfills, and continuous operation at scale.
Can I control where my data runs and is processed?
Yes. Estuary offers multiple deployment options, including fully managed SaaS, private deployments, and bring-your-own-cloud (BYOC). This allows teams to control where their data plane runs and meet security, compliance, and networking requirements. Learn more about Estuary's security and deployment options.
Can I build this Mailchimp to Amazon SNS integration manually?
Yes, it's possible to build a manual pipeline using custom scripts, scheduled jobs, or open-source tools. However, manual approaches typically require ongoing maintenance, custom error handling, schema management, and operational overhead. Estuary simplifies this by providing a managed pipeline with built-in reliability, scaling, and monitoring.
