The StarTree materialization connector in Estuary streams data from Estuary collections to StarTree as Kafka-compatible messages using Dekaf. StarTree connects to Estuary as a Kafka source, enabling low-latency analytics on streaming and batch data without requiring a separate Kafka cluster.

StarTree connects to Estuary using dekaf.estuary-data.com as the Kafka bootstrap server with SASL_SSL and the PLAIN authentication mechanism. For Avro messages, StarTree can also connect to Estuary’s Schema Registry endpoint to retrieve the message schema.
