The Bytewax materialization connector in Estuary streams data from Estuary collections to Bytewax as Kafka-compatible messages using Dekaf. Bytewax can consume these streams in real time for Python-based dataflows, transformations, analytics, and other low-latency processing workloads.

Bytewax connects to Estuary using the Dekaf Kafka-compatible endpoint with SASL_SSL and PLAIN authentication. By default, each binding’s topic name corresponds to its Estuary collection, though custom topic names can be configured.
